Exide is the Official Battery of NASCAR and will continue their partnership with Mike Skinner and Randy Moss Motorsports in the future. For more information about Exide, please visitwww.exide.com.
Returning Home: Mike Skinner will be returning to his home-state this week, as the Truck Series veteran is from Ontario, Calif., a neighboring city to Fontana – home of Auto Club Speedway. (Note: Skinner was raised in Susanville, Calif.)
Mike Skinner on Racing in Daytona vs. California: (Note: Mike is a resident of Daytona Beach, but was born and raised in California.) “Well, when it comes to choosing between Daytona and California, I’m going to pick Daytona. I’ve won at California before and I’ve won at Daytona, but I really like Daytona. There’s nothing to take away from Jillian and her staff at Auto Club Speedway, because they do a phenomenal job. It’s just a shame that we can’t sell more tickets out there. My heart is in Daytona though. I had an awesome truck there last week and it is a shame to get caught up in someone else’s problems, but we came home with a top-10 finish, so I’m not going to complain.”
Mike Skinner on Starting the Season Strong in Daytona: “Due to the cards dealt to Angie (Skinner, wife), myself, and Randy Moss Motorsports, there was a lot of work that had to come together quickly before Daytona – there were some hard cards to play. I mean, my team found out I was going to drive for them two and half weeks before the season started. They had to change manufacturers, get Daytona trucks ready, and get California trucks ready in a short amount of time. It is easy for a team to get that amount of work done when you can start right after Homestead, but my Randy Moss Motorsports team did a fantastic job of getting everything done and giving me a fast, competitive truck to drive in Daytona. It says a lot about Eric (Phillips, crew chief), David (Dollar, co-owner), and all of these guys. I couldn’t be more excited. You can get up in the morning and dread to go to the racetrack or you can get up and be excited to go to the racetrack – I’m definitely excited to head to the racetrack each week.”
Truck Racing on FOX Sports: This Saturday afternoon the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will have one of two races broadcasted live on national television, FOX. The next race televised on FOX will be held at Martinsville Speedway on March 28th.
