SKINNER AT TEXAS: Mike Skinner, driver of the No. 5 Exide Toyota Tundra, has competed in 11 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) events on the 1.5-mile speedway. Skinner has started from the pole five times and has six top-five and nine top-10 finishes in NCWTS competition at the track. The 1995 Series champion has also competed at the track 10 times in the Sprint Cup Series and on three occasions in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. In all, Skinner has taken the green flag 24 times at Texas Motor Speedway and considers it one of his favorite places to race.

TEXAS CHASSIS CHOICE: Crew Chief Eric Phillips and the No. 5 Randy Moss Motorsports team will utilize chassis RMM-105 for this weekend’s event. This truck was brand new for the event at Chicagoland Speedway and was last run at Las Vegas Motor Speedway where Skinner finished seventh.

THIS SEASON’S STATS: The No. 5 team has posted eight top-five and 14 top-10 finishes in 22 events this season, including three wins, which came at Kansas Speedway, Iowa Speedway and Gateway (Madison, Ill.) International Raceway. Skinner holds down the third spot in the NCWTS driver point standings, 124 markers behind second place.

SKINNER’S THOUGHTS ON TEXAS: “Texas is definitely one of my top three favorite racetracks on the whole circuit. The fans there have been very, very supportive. Justin boots is there and we’ve been with Justin boots since 1995. It’s amazing because I’ve never had a racetrack where I’ve ran as competitive, led as many laps, sat on as many poles, and not won a race as Texas. We had the Nationwide race won there before, we’ve ran awfully strong there in the Cup car there and we’ve left in a helicopter a couple of times with right front tires blowing out at Texas. I got hurt badly at Texas, but it’s definitely one of my top three favorite race tracks. Winning a racetrack there would be like winning a race at Bristol for me.”

SKINNER CAREER NCWTS STATS: Mike Skinner has scored 28 victories in 201 starts in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competition and has earned 88 top-five and 127 top-10 finishes since making his first start in Phoenix (and going on to win the event) in 1995. Skinner has also earned 50 pole positions during that time.
