RMM Announces Primary Sponsor for No. 81 for First Two Rounds of2009 Truck Series Season
STATESVILLE, N.C. (February 7, 2009) - Seattle’s Tayler Malsam is living his dream and with each day, the dream is becoming reality.
Last week, Randy Moss Motorsports (RMM) named Malsam, 19, as driver of the No. 81 Toyota Tundra for the full 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season.
Today, One Eighty Racing, a part of the One Eighty family of brands, announced it will kick-off Malsam’s rookie year by sponsoring him in the first two rounds of the 2009 season, including the NextEra Energy Resources 250 on February 13 at Daytona International Speedway and the second race at Auto Club Speedway on February 21. One Eighty will also continue their relationship with Randy Moss Motorsports through the entire NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season.
One Eighty Chairman and CEO Dan Madsen believes that human capital is a company’s number one resource. Madsen also believes that giving employees the freedom to chase their passion makes them happier, more engaged, creates better work and makes the company more successful.
“With One Eighty Racing we are continuing to help people follow their passions,” said Madsen. “What immediately attracted us to Tayler was his passion for racing and his character. He has a great team around him and we are proud to be a part of it. His performance on the track was just the icing on the cake. We believe he has an outstanding shot at winning the Raybestos Rookie of the Year award and we are excited to help Tayler reach that goal.”
“One Eighty is a company that doesn’t follow convention or industry norms,” continued Madsen. “We believe business can and should be done differently. That same twisted thinking applies to One Eighty Racing. It’s time to twist things up a bit. We won’t be happy being just another new name in the racing world; we want to be recognized as innovators in the business of racing.”
“It is an honor to have support from people like Dan Madsen and One Eighty,” said Malsam. “I can’t tell you how excited I am to have all the pieces come together and am ready to hit the track in Daytona.”
“We are very pleased to have One Eighty on board with us for the first couple of races,” added co-owner Randy Moss. “They obviously see the same potential in Tayler that we do. Dan has the same mindset as Randy Moss Motorsports does – people are the key ingredient to success. RMM is surrounded with great people and that is what it takes to win races and championships. The goal will be to get a good solid run in for One Eighty next Friday in Daytona.”
Helping to mentor Malsam’s bid for Raybestos Rookie of the Year honors will be his Randy Moss Motorsports teammate, former Truck Series champion Mike Skinner, who is one of the most successful drivers in series history.
