No. 81 Randy Moss Motorsports Toyota Tundra News and Notes
• This Week’s Tundra… David Starr will utilize RMM-104 to compete in the Nashville 200 at Nashville Superspeedway. The No. 81 Zachry Toyota Tundra team last raced RMM-104 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in the second race of the 2010 season. The truck was capable of running up front and leading laps, but bad luck ultimately shuffled RMM-104 back to a 15th place finish.
• Proven Success at Nashville Speedway… Throughout his career, Starr has proven to be one of the top drivers at Nashville Superspeedway. He is currently tied for third place on the all-time top-10 list with four top-10 finishes in eight starts at the Tennessee superspeedway. Additionally, Starr is tied for second-place on the list for the most top-five finishes around the 1.33-mile oval with three top-ten finishes throughout his career. Since Nashville Superspeedway made its debut on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule in 2001, Starr has competed in eight races at the track, making him one of the most experienced drivers on the short track in Friday night’s field.
• Watch and Listen… SPEED Channel will broadcast the Nashville 200 live from Nashville Superspeedway on Friday, April 2nd. Television coverage of the 150-lap event will begin at 7:30 p.m. EST. MRN and Sirius Satellite Radio will also provide a live radio broadcast of the event beginning at 7:30 p.m. EST.
David Starr on driving at Nashville Superspeedway
“I’ve always loved going to Nashville because being from Texas I’m a big country music fan. It’s a cool city to go visit, and on top of that, they throw a race in! Ever since we started racing at the Nashville Fairgrounds, I’ve just always loved going there. The Nashville Superspeedway is a great place to race too with the banking and the concrete track—it’s just a really fun place. In 2003, I was leading the race going into the closing laps. We had a caution and the late, great Bobby Hamilton come up and beat me going around the outside. I’ve even more excited for the race weekend at Nashville [Superspeedway] now that I’m involved with Randy Moss Motorsports. We have had some really great trucks so far this season, and it’s unfortunate that we have had such bad luck. I’m looking forward to finally racing on back-to-back weekends and trying to get our No. 81 Zachry Toyota Tundra in victory lane.”
Crew Chief Doug Wolcott on racing at Nashville Superspeedway
“Nashville [Superspeedway] is a really cool track. It’s one of the few races that everyone looks forward to for the city that it’s in as much as the race itself. I think the No. 81 Zachry team has prepared a really strong Toyota Tundra just like we have for every other race this season and I’m excited for our chances this weekend. If we can find a little luck, I’m confident that we can be battling for the win.”
