Mike Skinner
No. 5 Exide Toyota Tundra
Charlotte Motor Speedway – N.C. Education Lottery 200
May 21, 2010
Mike Skinner and the No. 5 Randy Moss Motorsports team welcomed Exide back to the hood of their Toyota Tundra for the first time during the 2010 season on Friday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The event featured just one day of on-track competition, which meant teams had to practice and qualify their trucks before the scheduled starting time of 8 p.m.
The morning started out on a high note as the No. 5 Exide Tundra was fast in both sessions. Skinner struggled with the handling of his truck through the corners of the 1.5-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway, but the team adjusted his truck throughout the practice sessions and felt like they had a truck strong enough to run in the lead pack during the 200-mile race.
Just hours before the race was scheduled to begin, rain came through the area and delayed the beginning of the 134-lap event. The field finally took the green flag at nearly 11:00 p.m. and raced through the night.
Skinner called in to his crew early in the event to update the Exide Toyota team on the handling of their Tundra. His machine was too tight around the top of the track, but could travel through the corners pretty well in the bottom groove. Skinner kept the No. 5 Exide Toyota Tundra steadily in the top-10 for the first half the race.
On lap 79, Skinner came down pit road for a routine green-flag pit stop. However, the caution flag came out just as Skinner entered pit road and resulted in the No. 5 Exide Toyota Tundra being scored a lap down. Skinner was able to get the “wave-around” to remain on the lead lap, but the ill-timed caution left the No. 5 Exide Toyota Tundra scored in the 15th position.
A series of cautions throughout the second half of the event allowed the Exide Toyota Tundra team to work on their truck, make changes to prepare the truck for the end of the race. Late-race restarts allowed Skinner to move through the field and achieve a sixth-place finish. The finish moved Skinner up to eighth place in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver points.
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will travel to Texas Motor Speedway on Friday, June 4th. The WinStar World Casino 400 will be broadcast on SPEED TV, SIRIUS NASCAR Radio and MRN Radio
beginning at 8:30 p.m. EST. Qualifying for the race will take place on Thursday, June 3rd at 7:00 p.m. EST, but will not be televised. Visit www.twitter.com/rmmracing or www.facebook.com/randymossmotorsports for news and updates throughout race weekends.

May 21, 2010
Zachry Holdings Inc. returned to the hood of the No. 81 Toyota Tundra this weekend with David Starr behind the wheel. The team entered Charlotte Motor Speedway coming off two top-10 finishes and their best results of the 2010 season. The No. 81 Zachry Toyota Tundra team worked to adjust their Tundra throughout the morning practice sessions at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday. Starr recorded the fourth fastest lap of the day during the final practice session and was extremely pleased with the Zachry Toyota Tundra going into the race on Friday evening.
Rain fell around the mile-and-a-half tri-oval just hours before the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 was scheduled to begin. The field finally took the green flag around 11:00 p.m. EST with track conditions vastly different than the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series experienced during the morning practice sessions.
Immediately after the green flag, Starr called in to the No. 81 Zachry Toyota Tundra team to report that the front swaybar was hitting the track through the center of the corner, which resulted in a tight handling condition. The Zachry Toyota Tundra crew worked throughout the race to raise the front of the truck and prevent the truck from bottoming out. Throughout most of the race, Starr continued to hit his marks and remained inside the top-10.
When the race came to an end shortly after 12:30 a.m. Starr was scored in the ninth position. The finish moved Starr to 10th in the NASCAR Camping World Truck series driver points.
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will travel to Starr’s home track at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday, June 4th. The WinStar World Casino 400 will be broadcast on SPEED TV, SIRIUS NASCAR Radio and MRN Radio beginning at 8:30 p.m. EST. Mike Skinner on racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway
“Charlotte is such a fun track. I’ve always qualified really well there and we’ve led a bunch of laps during the race, but we’ve never been able to put it all together at the end of the race. We’re using the same truck that we had in Kansas [at Kansas Speedway]. The truck was brand new for that race, but now we’ve had track time with it and we were able to take it back to the shop to make a few adjustments and changes as we worked the kinks out of it. I’m ready to go. We had a strong truck at Dover [International Speedway] last weekend, and we all want to get back into victory lane.”
Crew Chief Gene Nead on competing at Charlotte Motor Speedway
“I’m really excited to have the chance to work with Mike [Skinner] at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He’s been very successful in qualifying at Charlotte [Motor Speedway] and he’s led laps around the track, so now we just need to figure out how to close the deal and get ourselves to victory lane. We had our best finish of the season in the truck that we’re taking to the race and we’re ready to contend for the win this weekend.”

No. 81 PC*MILER Navigator Toyota Tundra
Dover International Speedway – Dover 200
May 14, 2010
The No. 81 PC*MILER Navigator Toyota team achieved their second consecutive top-10 finish with a sixth-place finish at Dover International Speedway on Friday afternoon. The effort marked Starr’s best finish of the 2010 season and helps build momentum going into the Charlotte Motor Speedway race weekend. The No. 81 Toyota team will race a brand new Tundra truck next weekend at a track where Starr finished in the seventh position just one year ago.
The PC*MILER Navigator Toyota Tundra proved its ability to be a strong competitor around the” Monster Mile” as soon the crew unloaded the truck on Thursday morning. The team was second quick in first practice and worked extensively on their race set-up. After his qualifying lap on Friday morning, Starr told the crew that his Tundra was too loose traveling around the corners, but additional practice sessions by the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide series helped add rubber in the corners and naturally tightened the track.
When the green flag fell on Friday afternoon, Starr immediately took off from his 15th qualifying position and moved up on the running board. The team was able to make minor alterations early in the race to adjust the handling of the PC*MILER Navigator Tundra to exactly what Starr was looking for. Since the No. 81 Toyota Tundra was handling well, the team was able to mix up their pit strategy by making a fuel only stop once and staying out during quite a few caution periods.
By lap 190, Starr had solidly placed himself inside the top-10, and it looked like he would be able pick up a few more positions before the checkered flag fell. However, a huge pile-up ensued when the No. 15 truck could not shift through the gears on the restart and Starr was nearly collected. Luckily, the PC*MILER Navigator Toyota Tundra was able to navigate its way through the carnage to bring home a sixth-place finish.
Next weekend, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will enjoy a “home race” at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The North Carolina Education Lottery 200 will be broadcast on SPEED Channel, MRN Radio, and SIRIUS NASCAR Radio beginning at 7:30 p.m. EST. Qualifying for the 200-mile event will be shown on SPEED TV beginning at 3:30 p.m. EST.

No. 5 International Truck/Monaco RV Toyota Tundra
Dover International Speedway – Dover 200
May 14, 2010
The No. 5 International Truck/Monaco RVs Toyota team finished in the top-10 for their second consecutive race on Friday at Dover International Speedway. The finish helps add momentum going into the race at Charlotte Motor Speedway where Skinner has started in the top four spots for each of his six starts at the1.5-mile track.
The race weekend at Dover International Speedway started with two solid practice sessions on Thursday morning. Skinner turned the second quickest lap of the day with a time of 23.283 seconds and had the truck handling well in race trim. The team made their qualifying run on Friday morning where a tight handling condition through the center of the corner resulted in a fifth place starting position for Skinner.
Shortly after the green flag fell on Friday afternoon, Skinner called into the International Truck/Monaco RVs crew to report that his truck was really tight from the center of the corner to the exit of the corner but also free on entry. The condition persisted for much of the race, and the International Truck/Monaco RVs crew utilized every opportunity they had to help improve the handling.
By lap 124, the No. 5 International Truck / Monaco RVs Toyota team started to get on a different pit sequence than some of their other competitors. The team had been racing in the top-15 for most of the day, but changing their pit cycle allowed them to move inside the top-10.
A late caution and a slow restart nearly cost Skinner a top-10 finish when the field stacked up on the race track. The incident left the field facing a green-white-checkered finish and gave the No. 5 International Truck/Monaco RVs Tundra one last chance at picking up positions. The field successfully completed two more circuits around the “Monster Mile” and Skinner picked up a two positions to finish in the race in the eighth position. The finish moved Skinner into the top 10 in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers point standings.

David Starr Kansas Speedway Recap
David Starr and the No. 81 Randy Moss Motorsports team welcomed PC*MILER Navigator back to the hood of their Toyota Tundra for the first time in the 2010 season. After a great partnership throughout the 2009 season, the two entities decided to join forces again for the current season. The O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 at Kansas Speedway marked the first of three races where PC*MILER Navigator will appear on the hood of a Randy Moss Motorsports prepared Toyota Tundra.
Trucks hit the track at Kansas Speedway for the first time on Saturday morning when they had two back-to-back practice sessions before qualifying Saturday afternoon. Starr recorded his fastest lap of 32.615 seconds at a top of 165.568 miles per hour during the final practice session. Before hitting the track for qualifying, the PC*MILER Navigator Toyota team made a series of changes to help adjust Starr’s Tundra to his preferences. During his qualifying lap, Starr struggled in turn three where the back end of his Tundra snapped loose and it felt as if he was going to spin out. Starr was able to hold on and qualified in the 25th position. The team felt that they would need to make a series of changes to the No. 81 PC*MILER Navigator Toyota Tundra during the first pit stop to make it a truck capable of contending for the win.
By the time the green flag fell on Sunday afternoon, track conditions were drastically different than they were on Saturday. The sun replaced overcast skies around the 1.5-mile oval and the temperatures rose from Saturday afternoon as well. Starr took the green-flag from the 25th position and immediately began moving to the front. Starr called into his crew during the first caution period on lap 7 and told them the PC*MILER Navigator Tundra was handling perfect and advised the crew not to touch a thing whenever they did finally come to pit road. On lap 27, Starr finally came down pit road where he took just right side tires and fuel. Starr beat the rest of the field off pit road to restart the race as the leader. A few laps after the restart, Starr called into the crew to tell them that his truck was tight from the center off, but not so tight that he would make any changes to it yet. He stayed out again during the third caution on lap 30, and returned to pit road under green-flag conditions on Lap 90. The crew made a slight air pressure adjustment to help the PC*MILER Navigator Toyota Tundra travel through the corner.
The lap 113 caution quickly turned to a red flag period for rain around Kansas Speedway. Teams hurried to the garage as heavy rain turned to hail before the sun began to shine around the Midwest track. Starr spent the red flag talking about the behavior of the PC*MILER Navigator Toyota Tundra with crew chief Doug Wolcott. At the time, Starr’s No. 81 Tundra was worse in turn one and two than it was in three and four and the driver was sitting in the 11th position with hopes of finishing inside the top 10. The rain washed the rubber of the track and left the competitors to deal with a green track for going into the final 50 laps of the day.
Starr visited pit road for the final time on lap 118 for four fresh tires and fuel. He continued to hold on his Tundra and worked to find his ideal line around the corners at Kansas Speedway. Starr worked diligently to pick up positions during the closing laps and successfully worked his way into the 10th position before crossing the finish line. The finish moved Starr up to the 14th place in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series owners’ points.
Mike Skinner Kansas Speedway Recap
The No. 5 International Truck/Monaco RV team built a brand new Toyota Tundra for Skinner to race at Kansas Speedway. Skinner entered the weekend with the pressure of being the defending race winner, and a chance at becoming the first driver to have multiple wins at the Midwest intermediate track.
Chassis RMM-108 turned its very first lap around a racetrack during the first practice session. The team had visited the shakedown rig and wind tunnel with the truck before, but it had never actually touched the surface of a racetrack. During Saturday’s practice sessions, Skinner recorded a best lap of 32.312 seconds with a top average speed of 167.121 miles per hour. A few hours later, Skinner went on track to make his qualifying run, which placed him eighth on the leaderboard to start the race on Sunday afternoon.
Shortly after the green flag, the caution came out on lap 9 giving the teams a chance to adjust their trucks. Skinner reported to the International Truck/Monaco RV team that his Toyota Tundra was a little tight from the center off, but overall not too bad. During the caution, he brought the No. 5 International Trucks/Monaco RV Tundra down pit road for fuel, a track bar adjustment and a wedge adjustment. The early stop left Skinner in the 25th position to restart the race.
Skinner struggled with the behavior of his Tundra as he moved steadily through the field passing between dirty air and clean air, which made it difficult to adjust the handling. The team spent two subsequent pit stops working on adjusting their Toyota Tundra to Skinner’s preferences before the caution came out on lap 115 for rain around the 1.5-mile Midwest track.
Heavy rain quickly turned to hail and the red flag was displayed at Kansas Speedway. During the red flag period Skinner got together with crew chief Gene Nead to discuss the behavior of the No. 5 International Truck/Monaco RV Toyota Tundra. While Skinner was pleased with the new truck that the Randy Moss Motorsports team had built, he concluded that the truck just wasn’t adjustable enough.
Going into the red flag, Skinner stated that his Tundra was loose through the center of the corner and on exit. The team decided to make a wedge adjustment to the truck when the field returned to caution and sent the No. 5 International Truck/Monaco RV Tundra back to the track for the conclusion of the race. The final adjustments finally left Skinner’s truck adjustable and able to race around the 1.5-mile track.
By the time the caution flag fell after 167 laps at Kansas Speedway, Skinner was scored in the 8th position. The finish was strong enough to move Skinner into the 13th position in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series owners’ points.
